And the Down Side Is…?

Correct me if I’m missing something or not getting the whole picture but… seeing this head line: Springhill inmates protest smoking ban by staying in their cells inspires me to think, there is a downside to convicts staying in their cells.  Am I the only one thinking why is anyone making a big deal out of it?  Shouldn’t we be rejoicing?  After all, these are convicts who WANT to stay in their cells.  Why is this being made to sound like such a bad thing, isn’t this what we want when we send people to prison for breaking the law, to just sit there and think long and damn hard about what they just, just like when one was 5 years old?

I don’t know about you, but this deserves a LOLcat (or the next best thing).

Momma Mia!

That-a man, he kisses real nice-a!  She said, after locking lips with her foreign lover.

Or at least that’s how it is according to a survey done through the social website WAYN.com, ranking men from various countries as lovers based on feedback from female respondents from 50 different countries. It seems that the Italians are really the true lovers in the end, and it’s the Germans who lack grace.

The Germans rank the lowest, labelled as being “selfish” in bed, closely rivalled by the Swedes who are much too quick, and the third last place Dutch who were too rough. Americans were considered to be “too dominant”, the Welsh “soppy” (excessively sentimental; mawkish)…

And who would be considered too loud? While most would think Americans, it’s actually the Scots who are considered to be too loud, with the Greeks as “too smelly” (it’s olive oil baby!) and Russians as “too hairy” and the English “too chubby”. Though it’s probably not as bad as being “too sweaty” as the Turks were…

But in light of this, who did rank well? The Italians placed first, followed by the French. But we all knew that. This is general knowledge. The others who ranked well? Not who’d you might expect…

Ireland, South Africa, Australia, Spain, Denmark, New Zealand, Brazil and Canada all ranked well after the Italian and French.

This begs the question… how is it possible for male lovers to suddenly turn sour south of the border?  One minute you’re in Windsor then next in Detroit… Is this the same invisible line when it comes to weather?

There are men who dispute this of course.  After all, who wants to lose out when there’s much at stake?  And it’s not just men in the bed at this point.  If it was, she must’ve gotten bored watching him…   And besides, how can someone be ranked as a lover without a test drive?

Of course, there is one crucial part missing… is the woman a cold fish in bed to begin with.

World’s ‘wurst’ lovers?

Plastic Cop: Deterring drivers since 2007

Some drivers speed and that’s a fact. It doesn’t matter what the posted limit it, people will go over that limit because they don’t think that there is anyone watching them. And even if there wasy, that other drivers seem to be driving faster than they are.

Photo radar doesn’t work as a deterrant as it has been shown over the years, but the sight of a cop with a radar gun is enough to put the brakes on any luxury sports car.

Or what about a cardboard cut-out of a cop holding a radar gun? It seems to have worked to a degree in the town of Smyrna, in Tennessee. Many drivers have been forced to slow down because they are unable to differentiate betweem a real life cop and the cut-out that was designed originally by Jim Gammon, who after the first month was asked by the city to commission another because the first was such a success.

I wonder if this would work in Toronto where the people drive like headless chicks with their driving foot glued to the gas pedal…
