Who is the Commander-in-Chief?

Who are you?

I’m the sole writer and editor of this blog. I am the Commander-in-Chief, if you must know my official title.

Great, now what’s your name?

My name you say?

What’s in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;
(Juliet, II, ii, 1-2, Romeo & Juliet)

You honestly want to know something that trivial? Oh very well, if you must know, my name is Bianca.

So, why do you blog?

I blog because I need a place where I can rant, whine, gripe, complain bemoan, groan, belittle, wail, and otherwise lament about the pathetic existence that is life. This is my sanctuary where I can write my innermost thoughts without fear of persecution.

‘Dear diary,

I think Stephan Harper is an asshole.’

It’s an outlet for me. Some people like to shoot targets, I like to publicly mock them in my blog.

What do you do besides blog?

I am a fanfiction writer, and as a few of my friends (yes, real people) have pointed out, I’m quite prolific (their adjective of choice, not mine, though I do very much agree after an assessment of my writing collection).

The myriad of my writing is hosted at a site that a friend of mine is the administrator of. It was her brain child after fanfiction.net decided that they wanted to be more child and family friendly and banned any fanfiction that was rated higher than R, and their requirements for “R” were not very liberal. As a result she founded, after she mistakenly forgot to backup my small-scale fanfiction website, Fanfiction Sanctuary (which is down right now).

You can find a small cross-sample of my writing here at my domain of WeaselHut[dot]Net. I will be eventually uploading more or when I get to it, providing a link to a place where you can find more of my writing.

You’re boring. Don’t you do anything else?

In addition to writing, I also play a variety of games, including and not limited to Guild Wars, The Sims 2 (plus the accompanying expansion packs) and the Civilization series.

While some people would say I watch limited television, I would say I have selective taste because I hate the assortment of crap, garbage and trash that litters the airwaves. In no real order, the only shows I watch on television are as follows:

  • The Mercer Report
  • Royal Canadian Air Farce
  • Jeopardy
  • The Simpsons
  • Futurama
  • Family Guy
  • American Dad
  • South Park
  • jPod

However, as of October of 2007 I no longer subscribe to cable television. I only have channels 2-6, and as such, I only can view the shows that appear on those channels. The rest I watch on my computer as I found the shows online or I watch them whenever I’m near a television or in the case of Futurama, I just get out the DVD.

What’s your religious affiliation?

None whatsoever, like my parents who don’t have any religious association, though parts of the family are practising Catholic.

Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, just as it is the spirit of a spiritless situation. It is the opium of the people. ~ Karl Marx

But, you believe in God, right?

Nope. God is a load of crap made up by a bunch of senile celibate old men who never got laid. I believe Nietzsche said it right, “God is dead”.

Plainly put, like my parents who brought me up with no religion or emphasis on any kind of God or anything like that, I’m an atheist; God in my world does not exist, has ever existed and ever will exist. I came to discover this as a teenager.

What is your political affiliation?

To any conservative, I’m just a liberal. To those who are colour-blind to the black and white, seeing only the grey, I’m a left-leaning socialist. Despite this, I was once told by my father that I’m so left I’m practically red. He the proceeded to call me a pinko commie, though I didn’t take it to be an insult because he’s quite liberal.

Who do you vote for?

In the provincial and federal elections my loyal vote goes to the NDP both times.

While I believe Dion, the leader of the federal Liberals has some excellent ideas and is well spoken; I much prefer the political agenda of Jack Layton and the NDP simply because Layton has worked at the city level (namely Toronto) and has done quite a bit for the city itself. Friends of the Don is one such example.

I have contemplated voting Liberal since they are moderate left with some policies.

Why did you not answer the name question as quickly as you did with the others?

Because I’m a jackass.

—> If you have any real questions, since it’s obvious I pulled them out of my ass, feel free to submit then using the feedback/comment feature of this blog.
